I have been a fan of exotic cowboy boots for years and have started a collection of exotic holsters and was wondering if it is a good idea to use any conditioners on them. I have used Brick 4 conditioner on my boots and have a good supply of it.

Would this be a conditioner that softens the holster? Obviously I do not want to soften it, but I want to keep it looking good and not cracking.

Suggestions?

Exotics are usually extremely soft already so there's little you can do to hurt them. It's the underlying cowhide you need to worry about. For that, I tell folks to use a very light application of neatsfoot oil or Lexol no more than once a year. Don't overdo it.

Contact ....

Id contact the source(s) directly. Greg Kramer, Galco, Andrews Leather, Lawman Leather Goods, Del Fatti, etc.
A few high end shops do a couple exotics like alligator shark rhino deer boar horsehide etc.

I used John Lobb shoe cream on couple Galco holsters before w/o undesirable effects (like leather softening). I don't see why it would not help exotic animal skins too.

I don't see a whole lot of them on the market.
Probably because it's not really considered "exotic". You don't see any elk hide either and for the same reason. Commercial bison hide is not stiff enough for holsters and so must be used as an overlay, just like most exotics. It's beautiful leather but I have to question the marketing of it as "exotic". Because it's rather common and only slightly more expensive than vegetable tanned cowhide.

Use Kewi paste shoe polish in the flat can, of the correct color.

You simply can't do wrong, or do any leather any harm with that!

And don't forget Bison Hide - this bison Slide Guard from High Noon Holsters for the CZ P-09 is supple, nothing needed so far.
