greetings to all,

My wife and i have decided that we both want to get CHLs for various reasons. so i have been looking at the options out there for carrying a fullsize 1911 concealed. during my search i found a number of references to "tucker Gunleather" and decided to look closer...

well, it turns out that i like the looks of what Tucker offers. AND it is a local (i live a hour south of Houston) company. and whenever feasible i try to do business with local companies.

so what i am wanting to know is, who out there has used, Tucker Products and what do you think of them??

one specific question/statement to put out there.. i'd really like to get the oppinions of someone who has used tucker's "the answer" Esp. owners of that rig who, like myself are of the "owner of excess bodily real estate" persuasion , right now that seems the most likely model for me to decide to get, and i want to know how well it works when the wearer is pear shaped. (if i can't be honest AND make light of myself....)

any and all input or advice is welcome.

thank you

I have two of the Texas Heritage IWBs for revolvers. Leather quality is good and the workmanship is all "Texan" :D Rob Longnecker is knowedgeable and a good man to deal with. Tucker is experienced and flexible. In all, some discussion with Rob, outlining what you have, want to do with it, and whatever limitations you may think you have (they have built rigs for every shape and size, and just might suggest something you haven't thought of) could very likely get you just what you want. There are makers out there who can be painful to deal with - either during the deal or later while trying to wear their product. I have found neither to be the case with Tucker.

Wow, Sven, nice rig. That's the style I wanted to get, but I couldn't quite get past the sticker shock (as Rob called it;) ),
so I settled for the plain jane variety:p

My justification: I'll put cases and cases of ammo through my .45, at an expense much greater than this holster.

(BTW, contact me if you need any rationalizations for any gun-related purchase, I have quite a list ;) )

The holster performed flawlessly in my recent training course with Chuck Taylor. I tried running with it - no problems. Haven't tried somersaults yet...

Update

ok i've pretty much made up my mind that when the time comes i'm getting a Texas Heritage and a belt through Tonerguy.

but my wife just threw me a curveball.... seems she doesn't want to change to wearing a belt. since she does not normally wear one, it would feel awkward to her, be a pain the rear to get used to over all, etc etc. and i'm pretty much betting this does away with over 90% if not all forms of IWB carry. and of course with standard pancakes. but what about paddle holsters??

in other words if she's not wearing a belt on her jeans.. which types of holster/carry system would be usable, etc. and which designs/ sources are good?? keep in mind that currently the most likely gun to be carried will be a full-size 1911.

~exasperated voice~why couldn't my life be simple just once! ~Exasperated voice off~ sorry couldn't resist, i love my wife and she pus up with me so i'll deal with almost anything that she dishes up in this manner.

btw i DO have a reply from Rob (tonerguy) ont eh subject, tucker makes a paddle holster designed to better fit women, that also needs no belt. and so far i consider this a good option. but i of course want as much info/as many oppinions as i can get.

thank you once again for your time, experiences, and advice.

edited in effort to make more sense/ ask the question properly
