I have an older model Burris Fullfield 1 4x-12x scope mounted on my Remington 700 DL. It seems my eye relief is a whole lot shorter than the "normal" 3-4 inches found on sites all over cyberspace. I think it's about 2 1/2" when shouldered with my hunting clothes on. This distance gives me a full view when I shoulder the rifle. Could I just be a wierdo or something? I did the close yer eyes, shoulder the gun, and then open yer eyes to see if the scope is filled and it is.

Anyhoo, wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I have an older 3x-9x Burris Fullfield and it probably has about 3 inches of eye relief on 3x (max). I think the older Burris scopes have good optics and are well built but I have always found them to be heavier and longer than comparably powered scopes and they have never had great eye relief. Now, their mini scopes had better eye relief but I never found the quality of optics to match the fullfield line. I don't know about their new fullfields, I think they are claiming better eye relief and I know they are lighter and shorter with the adjustment turrets better centered. When I need eye relief, I choose Leupold.
