I got mine working, and I noticed that when it is on the Media moves/cascades over its self but the brass does not.

I have only used it once, is the brass supposed to be moving also? I am using corncob from walmart and nufinish.

I have less than 100 shells in it and it is at least 2/3rd full of cob.

Thanks

My brass moves too, but you need to get a lot in the bowl. I'd go with at least 200-300 9mm shells (what I tumble usually). Also had a good experience with 64 complete 30-06 rounds. I usually fill it about 3/4 way with media.

Some times my cases move with the media and some times they don't...Tumble them for at least an hour. If they are coming clean and shinny. Don't worry about it. If you tumble loaded rounds they too will not move with the media, but they come clean...

That's common - you just need a few more cases or a little less media in the bowl. I typically fill the bowl 1/2 way and up to 150 cases and they roll around quite nice. Size of the cases matter as well - sometimes 20 .308 cases work fine, but 50 .32ACP cases by themselves are never seen in the media.

The tumbler cleans with a combination of friction and the action of the polish. There has to be movement between the media and the brass, or it won't clean. If they all move together, at the same speed, it will take forever to get it clean. You'll want the media moving faster than the brass to get the scrubbing action of the media to do it's work.

In other words, don't worry about it.

Hope this helps.

Why tumble fully loaded cases? Weren't they clean to begin with?
Nope. They were mildly tarnished CMP Greek CXP 30-06 rounds made in 1972. They weren't terrible, but I like shiny ammo. :)

Word of advice on the Greek CXP ammo: if you get boxed, there's generally a higher chance of having un-safe, corroded ammo (10-20%) because of the glue used in the boxes. The stuff that comes on en bloc clips doesn't suffer from that problem. CMP sells both @ www.odcmp.com.
