My uncle gave me one shotgun of hunting, judges that Italian and with many years but in very pretty and good conditions - it is a Flli Pioti nr. 48xx - year 1969.
I do not know nothing of this shotgunn nor I obtain its history and indicative value.
It is a sidelock SxS H&H, gauge 12, barrels of 27", automatic ejectors, monogrillo, Engraving by Magister MUFFOLINI senjor.
They can help me?
Thanks

Excellent Shotgun

You have an excellent shotgun there. One of the finest Italian guns produced. Julia would be a good place to gather information on it. Likely a valuable piece.

IIRC, new Piottis start off around $40K USD. Yours is quite valuable. It's also a good game gun. Enjoy....

The pictures on this site www.williamlarkinmoore.com/piottifratelli.html aren't really large enough, but look at the King models and maybe the Monaco model.

"The King Royal engraving is a large scroll pattern similar to a Holland & Holland Royal." Only $32,700. ;)

Well, on second thought, yours looks better. Here's their U.S. price list www.williamlarkinmoore.com/prices.html

I think I'll search for better pictures.

By the way, I see the name Muffolini very often associated with the very expensive shotguns, but I don't know if it is the same person - the work is certainly of the same quality as near as I can tell from pictures. Here's a picture of an Flli. Rizzini action.

I've looked some more, but haven't found an exact match. I think I would write or call Piotti (or possibly even the U.S. importer) with the serial number and ask them if they would be so kind as to look it up in their records.

Good luck, and please let us know what you find out.

I have a .22LR made by them that I got for my 8th Birthday.....

Need to get a few parts for it (I was stupid in my younger days)

Hay look a .22LR is only half full of powder lets take 2 and make 1....

Poof ejector and looking lug gone :(

Anyway sent them 3 different Emails and no response yet... Maybe I need to write it in Italian?

Luistc, nice shotgun. Exquisite engraving (if yours is anything like JohnBT's examples).

I'm afraid that if my 870P - my only shotgun - had that kind of art on it,
it'd never leave the safe for fear of scratching it.

Just gimme a plain black parkerized receiver, and I'm a happy guy.

(Well, at least I sleep well at night knowing that if mr. bg comes through the door, the 00 in that 'plain black receiver' shotgun will make some new art, even if, as other threads I've read recently point out, I may be faced with psychological issues, legal fees, & court dates, I'll (probably) still be alive.)

But again, nice shotgun.

BTW, welcome to THR.
You've come to the right place for quality advice.

Thanks for your help. :)

After very looking for in books of the specialty, Net, encyclopedias... was possible to conclude to be about the Model Monaco 3 - a beautiful shotgun. :D :D

I wait that the manufacturer comes to answer to my help and to confirm this version. :fire: :fire:

Grateful for your help and I am to your whole number to make use. ;)
