Factory Glock trigger - slight variations?

So I was checking out my new G34, and I discovered that the trigger is slightly different on this gun as compared to my G19C and G30. The trigger texture on the G34 is smooth, while the trigger texture on my G19C and G30 have thin horizontal grooves in it. All my Glocks are 3rd Gen, and all guns are factory original.

Check your triggers out. Which do you have? Why the trigger variations?

My OLD G24P is smooth. It has the factory 3.5lb connector.

Don't forget that the G34 and G35 have the 3½ pound connector, as opposed to the "standard" 5½ pound connector in most Glocks. They may have a different trigger face as well.

Glock calls the ones with the grooves "target triggers." On the smaller guns, like the G30, having a target trigger adds a point to the ATF import list and thus can be sold in the US. Beats me why they have them on the bigger guns.

Putting the groved trigger on the full size guns is new one on me. Both my G-22 and G-17 came with smooth face triggers. Sounds like Glock may have just stardardized for simplicity.

Lot of people used to switch out the smooth trigger to smaller guns for more comfortable shooting.

Kevlarman has it. The "target" trigger is needed to get to the required number of points to qualify for import under the GCA '68.

FWIW, you can easily and very cheaply replace the target trigger with a smooth on the compacts. I've done so.
