Factory STHP size vs RELOADS?

I reload STHP's, but I've noticed that the STHP's (silver-tip hollow points) in the 44spl STHP factory loads are designed to open up at 44spl velocities. In other words, large cavernous hollow points with large sides to split open upon impact with anything.

I've noticed that the STHP's I get as reloading supplies appear to be geared towards 44mag loads. That is they have smaller diameter cavities and smaller segments to split open. The reloading bullets appear to require velocity to open up.

My question is: is it possible to get the lower velocity bullets for reloading? Or does anyone have any experience with these? Not worried about accuracy, but more so interested in expansion.

Please see attached images - brass case is the 44spl factory round, nickel case is one of my 44mag reloads with the STHP. Any feedback is welcome.

Thanks RC. Shame they don't make the STHP's in 44spl. They're one accurate bullet in 44mag.

Looks like the Gold Dots are going to be my best bet for the lower velocity stuff - and cheaper, too! Bummer that they're not as pretty though. Thanks for the link!
