For my new AR build I'm planning on ordering the Failzero bolt carrier group & hammer. I'm curious if anyone here has one and can comment on how it is.

I've heard that at least a few people reported improperly staked gas keys, but that Failzero fixed them at their expense... still something to wonder about.

Also, I know that they're meant to be run without lubrication; will oiling it reduce performance at all? What about solvents when cleaning, anything to be careful with there because of the EXO coating?

if i were you I'd just go with BCM.

if you do go with the FZ and it's not staked properly, you can just do it yourself in ten minutes.

I considered it, and yes, I know I could fix the staking myself, but I'm just trying to see if it's a common trend with quality control or just a few that slipped through the cracks.

I'd go with a BCM standard carrier. They work, and cost less.

If you must have a fancy coating, BCM offers one option, and Spike's Tactical apparently has some boron nitride (?) option as well. Either one would be less money than the "fail zero" if I'm correctly remembering a $300ish price for the fail zero.

$270 including the hammer from Brownells...

Money isn't really an issue, nor is whether or not I should get it versus this or that BCG, I understand that everyone has their own preference, but I'm really just looking for commentary about the Failzero BCG from people who have it.
