Fair asking price for a Leupold Vari-X IIc 6-18x40mm (AO) silver?

I ordered a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40mm (RZ-600 reticle) this morning for my hunting rifle and want to sell the scope that I was using. It's a Leupold Vari-X IIc 6-18x40mm (AO) with a fine duplex reticle that was on a .308 for about 300 rounds and a .300WSM for 25 rounds (all at the range). It's in near perfect condition but I have no use for it. The newest equivalent scope from Leupold (the VX-II line) sells for around $500. I'm going to put this one on Ebay and was wondering what a fair asking price would be ... $100, $150, $200 etc. I'll be selling it with the sunshade and Butler Creek caps and original box/cloth.

You could look at completed auctions on ebay and get an idea.

Or, you could roll the dice with a 1c start and no reserve.

Dryhumor is right on, check completed listings. That will tell you what they have been selling at. I have all ways had the best luck starting at 1c...

Also keep in mind you will get more out of it around August and September, as the hunting crowd will be looking for up grades just before season.

DRYHUMOR & Niles Coyote, thanks for the suggestion. I was able to find four similar models on Ebay. Looks like Leupold's lifetime transferable warranty is a win-win for both seller and buyer. :)

ONE TWO THREE FOUR
