I am thinking about getting a decent SKS as a starter Militia Rifle, :)neener:) and I know that prices can change over time. I just do not want to get ripped off on the price, so I was wondering what is a good price for a SKS from a store?

You can get a Norinco in the 230 range, about the same or less for a nice yugo. Others I'm not so sure on.

See sig.

You can get a Yugo for $200. Excellent price and it's a great gun. Definitely pick one up while you can. After you do, you'll probably end up buying an AK or two and maybe and AR.

New Yugo or Norinco SKS for $200 in cosmoline and complete.

Ammo Depot or Ammo Dump in Royce City, TX.

Had a bunch of them.

See them $210-$230 most places.

Thanks all!

I just need to know what price I need to walk away from, and it is $230 appears to be the "walk away" price.

Will be looking for a good Mosin-Nagant or SKS to put on layaway when I pick up my Hi Power.

I paid 260 for my Norinco SKS. Yeah its a bit pricey(though I don't think up here I'd find anything cheaper), but considering shipping/FFL transfer fees from an online purchase, the cost ends up being about the same.

every Norinco SKS in my area is around $300. if you can find on cheaper do it!! They are a lot of fun and surprisingly accurate.

Price vary by your area allot, I live in NC about 30 min. from Classic Arms They have excellent YUGO for around $200 on occasion some of the local shops have what I would call unissued YUGO for around $210 I inspected several and could not find a flaw. I bought my 1965 Chinese /26\ NIB for $225 from a local gunsmith.

YUGO
Good condition $150 to $175
Excellent condition $200 to $225
NIB like Samco sells $250

Chinese
Depending on condition $175 to $$250 being NIB condition

Russian
$300+ depending on version and condition.

Don't buy somebody else's bubbed up mess and problems. Better to buy one online pay a little extra than go that way. If you cant find a decent SKS get a Saiga cheaper than an AK and more accurate.
