Is 589.00 a good price for a new in box Arsenal Sam-7?

I thought I might ask everyones advice before I lay out the $$

Thanks.

that's a good price, where have you been looking.

Some table at the valley forge gun show wanted $790 for one. I told him he was insane.

In the end, i picked up some bulgarian waffle magazines and talked to a friend of mine who will be ordering an Arsenal SLR-101SB for my magazines. (same as a SAM-7, just cheaper because the receiver was made in bulgaria by and finished in the US by Arsenal versus completely made in the US)

Silly me. I clicked on this thread thinking somebody was shopping for a ComBlock air-defense weapon. A Grail, as it were.

FWIW, I don't think it is smart to name a conventional firearm a SAM-7. Now the anti-gun gang can tell the world that SAM-7's are being sold at gun shows, and the public will believe we trade in surface-to-air missiles. That will really help our image.

Why the hell do we do these things to ourselves and keep letting others do it.

And don't tell me I am over reacting or that it is all in fun. I don't like to see headlines equating gun owners with terrorists, and that is exactly what is happening here because some idiot has a "cool" idea. Yes, I know the gun ban crew will use every weapon against us anyway, but damn it, we don't have to give them more weapons. What is the next model going to be called? Tactical Nuke, maybe, or Anthrax Special?

Relax Keenan, no matter how the media spins it You would have a hard time mistaking a rifle for a surface to air missle!. And thanks to all those with some worthwhile feed back, I'm gonna pick it up tomorow.

Geez, good thing I didnt ask about a P-38 you wouldnt know if it was the plane, pistol, or can opener.

My first thought was a SAM-7 Surface to Air Missile as well.

Well..considering a thread we had going on some time ago about a AK worth a couple of chickens I would think a cow would be a fair price for a SAM. :D

Oh...and everyone knows a P38 is a can opener!:p

A 9K32M Strela-2 (NATO "GRAIL") shoulder-fired, infra-red guided, man-portable surface to air missile launcher will run you about $6,000 from my distributor. Pricey, but still, that's surplus price. Missiles are about $500 a pop. Short ranged, low-altitude only. Best used on helicopters, though unlikely to knock down a Hind with one hit. :D

I don't know about that, what about those .50 cal missle launchers that shoot down satelites?:neener:

Count me in as well. Played a few to many MicroProse flight sims in high-school I guess ;)

And I concur on antis and their fact checking. I've heard an anti wanting to ban RX-7s confusing them, I guess, with AK 47s. You could name a gun the "Baby Rescuer" and the antis would want it out of our hands.

Isn't that the car with the rear spoiler that makes it designed to slide sideways around corners, making the car much faster than a car that corners in the traditional fashion?:D

Boy look what I started:D :D !

Anyway, It's not a SA-M7 It's an SLR 101. I was wrong. Is this still a good price?? BTW, It's got the pistol grip and black plastic furniture if that helps. Thanks again.

You may want to order from gunsnstuff.net and get your dealer to do the transfer for you (for a fee). No sales tax then either. I think the price is about $470.

just checked the other day, gunsnstuff.net is out of them. actually clubsoda22 checked but either way, they're out.

guns and stuff said they won't have them for 3 weeks, which in gun distributor language means for the next 6 months they won't have them for 3 weeks and then they will be "no longer available"

Is the SA M-7 worth the extra money over the slr -101? I want one but want the most gun for the money. The SLR seems to be around 60.00 dollars cheaper and has the scope mount on it........Thanks for any help.

Here is one for the Antis,

Next time you look at the moon, you see all those craters, well me and my red neck buddies at the club, blew those holes in the moon with our 30-30 winchesters. We tried to hit pluto, but it was a little hard to see with the iron sights.

sgtb,
The SA M-7 has the cleaning rod under the barrel, the SLR doesn't. SA M-7 has forged and milled fire control components, SLR has cast. Some SLRs have tight mag wells since they were converted from single stack guns.

I wouldn't worry too much about the triggers that come with the SLR-101. They are K-var units, are investment cast steel and are regarded as good non-adjustable FCG units.
