Folks:

Okay, I'm still ruminating (but enjoying it) on what to buy for my CC weapon (IWB carry). Was more or less set on a .40 but started thinking about how much I love shooting my Government Model. I know I'm giving up capacity but damn the .45 is fun to shoot!

I've got a .40 XDM so I handled the .45 XD Compact and it feels good...~$570 new. The trigger wasn't as nice as my XDM but hey...

I also stopped by one of the smaller ranges here and they had a used SA Champion (stainless). Seemed to be in pretty good shape and would probably clean up nice. They let me shoot 7 shots with it and I got about a 2 inch spread at 30 feet without trying too hard.

They were asking ~$450 for the gun, but they'll drop it down to $425. I've looked on Gunbroker and this seems like it's in the ballpark, but I wanted to ask you guys what you thought. So my questions:

1) Any experiences with the SA Champion, positive or otherwise?
2) Is $425 a fair price for a good condition used stainless?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions, comments, etc., and stay warm!
