FAL L1A1 and R1A1

Are you talking about the original military rifles or the Century Arms semiautos that are listed as both of these?

Anyways, the L1A1 is an "inch" pattern rifle that was used by the United Kingdom for decades.

The R1A1, I believe, is a "metric" pattern rifle that was used and produced in South Africa. I'm not positive.

Check out The FAL Files. They'll be able to hook you up.

The century guns can be a tossup. On the plus side, whatever's wrong with one can usually be fixed. Places like Azex Arms do this for a fee.

The people over at the FAL files will tell you to build your own. This is doable, but unless you've got the tools (including one for measuring headspacing) and a little experience with the FAL rifle I can't recommend it, personally.
