A while back I sent an barely used, but very dirty auction buy to Yost-Bonitz. It was a pre-enhanced stainless Delta Elite, actually still is.

Today the FedEx guy woke me up and it was home. Just in time for fall and goblin season.

It seems as though Ted did his magic on this one. I think the only thing still original is the frame, slide and mag release. Everything else has been tweaked or replaced. At the heart is a Scheumann Ultimatch ramped bull barrel (.40) rechambered for the 10mm. The frame was prettied up, high cut frontstrap, 30lpi serration on frontstrap, a 20 lpi MSH, adjustable Novak sights with a gold line front sight. I had him put on an Ed Brown grip safety, remove the grooves, and make the beavertail as small as he possibly could. I think that came out exceptionaly well. It was dehorned, an ambi safety, and then all hardchromed. It was then finished off with a set of VZ black/red linen micarta grips.

I am very happy with it so far. Hopefully we can get out to the range this weekend and see how it digests Double Tap ammo.

It took and while, and a pretty good chunk of change, but is all worth it for me.

Very beautiful gun.

I still regret selling my Kimber Custom SS in 40cal. Was intending to buy a Nowlin 10mm barrel for it but some other project forced it's sale - buying a P7M13.

I've looked for years locally and could never find a CDE that was not beat to hell and abused. Seems like folks in the PNW just shoot them up and you should have seen the scratches on these puppies. I'd have to have those CDE refinished.

Yours in a beauty.

Love the grips especially.

Now do you reload? If not, you should, you could get some great deals on once fired 10mm range brass from PDs and light load some rounds for general plinking or hot load for hunting or 50 yard plus shooting outdoors.

The high powered 1911s excel at 50 yards plus shooting since 10mm and 357 sig are such flat shooting rounds.

The crisp fall air...

The crisp single-action trigger! (Are you beginning to notice a pattern here?)

That is one sweet Delta Elite! I believe that it could almost be as good as my Dan Wesson Razorback #84! :neener: ;)

Honestly, that's a great machine! Take good care of it! (I know you will!)

There is nothing that says beautiful Delta Elite like shiny plastic leaves and spiderweb bedspreads.

Actually, it is a tablecloth. You must not be married to someone who belives the holiday decorating season starts in early October!!

I have learned to live with it.
