Yesterday evening I took the family up into the mountains and broke out the old Remington 514.
The ammo was CCI .22 Short CB. Very quiet. No recoil. Just enough power to kick up a puff of dust to see where the bullet hit. Perfect for little kids.

This is my littlest one... he is 3 years old and loves to go shooting.
We had some safety glasses, but it turns out that this little monster threw them out the window on the way up the mountain. Since we were only shooting CB's I didn't think there was any harm in going ahead and shooting. Bad practice - but the brothers would have killed the little guy if I ordered everyone back in the Bronco without any trigger time.

A bit too small to be able to tuck into the sights... but he had fun anyways.

My wife wanted to talk to me about one of my classes. She just found out that I was the only guy in a class full of single ladies.

George, I've been in Florida too long.

Looking at picture #1 above, it wasn't the heart-warming scene of The Ogre showing his son how to handle a rifle that drew my breath. It was the panorama behind the actors in the frame. :what:

(But it was heart-warming, if we could have kids I'd be doing the same thing)

Argh. The song that comes to mind is "Wishin' You Were Here", or vise versa. You have such great kids, George.

John

Thanks John. Any time you want, your welcome to some wide open desert skies. Camping out here is awesome... on a nice night... you can see see satilites and every star in the heavens.

As far as the picture of the Mrs... I would have been nervous knowing I would never have my body discovered and all. But I clearned the guns and made safe... and held the camera out away from me.

No 514, but my first bolt gun as a kid was a 521T.

Looks darned familiar compared to that 514 above, don't it? :D
