Fancy Target Grips

Has anyone in here tried shooting with wrap-around target grips with a thumbrest such as these? http://www.grips4guns.com/pistol/colt/item_1201027.html
I like the way the 1911 fits my hand, and I'm a decent shot, but I always feel that a bit of a palm swell, and a rudimentary thumbrest might help. Yes, I know that different people will have different experiences, but they're a sort of expensive experiment. Figured I'd ask...

I like the thumb rests. I have one on my mark II But not on my 45 yet I'm not a big fan of smooth grips I like the gun to stick in my hand for bullseye shooting, if you could get that grip with some checkering I would go that rout. To some people the thumb rest makes the gun feel more steady it's all up to your feel. just my 2cents.
