Just wondered what you guys have found to be your fav 40 round and why, as I have tried many and stuck with a few.

5.5 Grs Titegroup behind either a 155Gr plated FP or Hornady 155gr JHP. This is out of a XDsc. Pleasant recoil snap, small groupings, relatively clean.

I have two that I stick with.

180gr Berry's RSFP, 3.7gr WST, CCI SPP, OAL=1.128"

180gr Precision Delta FMJ, 3.9gr WST, CCI SPP, OAL=1.129"

I use both loads for IDPA.

For steel plates, 140gr IDP#7 (140gr) lead TCFP from Missouri Bullet Co. over 5gr of WST. COAL of 1.125".

Very accurate, fairly clean. I burn through 100+ nearly every weekend in my M&P .40 :D

Just worked up the same load as cowtownup for my .40 cal loads. Used Unique under 165 gr loads in the past, but cant seem to get any Unique in stock anywhere that isn't gone in 30 seconds....

Berrys 180 RS over 3.8 VV N320 at 1.130. Perfect .40 minor load for Production class. Super clean.

For general recreation 4.0gr WST under a 170gr Missouri SWC is sweet. 3.5gr TiteGroup under a 200gr is nice as is anywhere from 3.8-4.4gr under a 180gr.

Power Pistol is very nice for good "normal" power offerings from 135-200gr. 7.2gr PP will toss a 180gr Gold Dot at 1,065 from the 4" G23. 8.0gr PP will get a 165gr Gold Dot over 1,150 and 9.0gr PP will throw a 155gr JHP over 1250 from the 4" G23.

Longshot is great for upper end "warm" .40's. From a G35 it's no trouble exceeding 1,250 fps with a 180gr JHP. From a 6" barrel you're looking at well over 1,300 fps. Who needs a 10mm with those numbers??
