i have a wilson conversion that works well on one frame-only. suspect that slide fit to the frame is the defining issue. a good recomendation for kimber, IF you own/plan to own their frame.
the 40gr winchester plated round nose is more reliable in MOST conversions. again, what works for YOUR unit. wilson recommends this load however.
also, as above, get a new, lighter mainspring. better still, build up an entire housing to ease changing over. best bet is a colt .38 super gold cup spring, lightest i could find at 13lbs. this will reduce the energy required to cycle the slide completely. got mine from brownells.
another consideration is magazine costs. haven't been in the market for a while, but there used to be a large gap between mfgr costs for same.
