i have a wilson conversion that works well on one frame-only. suspect that slide fit to the frame is the defining issue. a good recomendation for kimber, IF you own/plan to own their frame.

the 40gr winchester plated round nose is more reliable in MOST conversions. again, what works for YOUR unit. wilson recommends this load however.

also, as above, get a new, lighter mainspring. better still, build up an entire housing to ease changing over. best bet is a colt .38 super gold cup spring, lightest i could find at 13lbs. this will reduce the energy required to cycle the slide completely. got mine from brownells.

another consideration is magazine costs. haven't been in the market for a while, but there used to be a large gap between mfgr costs for same.

Very interesting so far we got:

Kimber
Ciener
Advantage Arms
Marvel
Tactical Solutions
Kart
Colt
Wilson Combat

Does the Wilson Combats slide lock back on the last shot? I don't think I'll be shooting IPSC anytime soon.

Tactical Solutions model of the Marvel seems to be the hot ticket.
People with Marvels in my area are switching to the Tactical Solution version.
I have heard that Bob Marvel is working with Tactical Solutions.
I own a Marvel and enjoy it. It works fine for Bullseye with CCi Standard blue box. I can out shoot my S&W M-41 with it.
