Just curious...Personally My AR's are done up in either FDE or Black furniture so FDE is my #1 and black is my #2.

haha. I have both and have black mags with FDE floorplates and FDE floorplates with black mags...I stopped caring about it and just grab whatever is on top to go to the range or classes.

I use whatever comes out of the ready stash first.
Does Pmag still do 'colors'? I thought they had dropped that idea.

Depends on stock supply and or sale.... don't care to much about matching colors, thats what Krylon is for. I bought black for my first though, as my beginning scheme is a black AR.

I think they only produced them in Black during the panic...now that they are widely available again they seem to be available in multiple colors...at least the Gen 2 Mags are anyway

So far my two ARs are black...I am thinking of either changing the furniture on one to FDE or Foliage, or who knows maybe a good excuse to build another one.

I read that they will stop producing the colors at the end of the year. I do not know the accuracy of the source however and could not find anything from MAgpul directly. I did find an article directly from MAgpul introducing their upcoming pink and stalth gray colors to mags and furniture. It said coming fall. I am not sure how old the article is but the stealth gray looks pretty cool.

I didn't know pink was available. I thought those were coated by a 3rd party.

No favorites but I do use the different colors to keep track of what ammo is in which mag (FMJ, barrier blind, .300 super or .300 subs)

I thought it was pretty nifty to have the color baked right in that won't scratch off banging up against barricades or dropped in the dirt.

The OD green ones match my OD stocked and gripped Noveske/Model One carbine.

Sounds to me like Magpul made the change to black only during the rush to get mags out the door during the recent panic and changing laws in Colorado.

I am glad I managed to get more of the OD ones while I could.

(Black)
They are magazines for holding and feeding ammo, not Da Vincis!

Understand, but the colored ones to me add a little more personality to the gun. I am not saying I don't stick FDE's in my black AR and blacks in my FDE AR but aesthetically speaking, especially when my stock, grip, trigger guard, BUIS and handguard rails are Magpul FDE, the extra touch of the magazine just makes it look more intentionally.

I built my AR's exactly how I wanted them, barrel length, twists, trigger pull, grip angle, sights, optics, rail length, etc., etc. A matching magazine certainly doesn't help it function better but it looks more intentional.

To each their own... I took a shooting course the other weekend and shot nearly 700 rds with my AR while moving. while the target moved, while standing, prone, kneeling, behind cover, on my back, on my side, with my weak arm and missed center mass of the targets 1x (unless at any point I completely missed the body sized target AND the surrounding target frame). That 1 shot was right in the wrist watch. I would like to think it wasn't the trigger kit, or the barrel twist, or my previous training that did it. I like to think its the fact that the accessories on my gun all match. HAHAHA

Another benefit to the colored PMAGs were...mine were FDE, my buddies one of the green. 1 other person had black pmags and the other person had USGI aluminum's that he spray painted a similar color to FDE... I thought it was odd that it seemed like we all had one of each...BUT no matter where or when we dropped out mags, we always knew who's was who's.

Dare I open another poll about windowed or windowless? Or would that just send the "anti-colored magazine guys" into a tail spin?

Truly I am slowing building stock to open a small internet store and wanted to purchase several case loads of these. I knew the black ones would be most popular but wanted to focus more on the colored ones in case Magpul does discontinue them. I would like to be sitting on a huge pile of them. I can continue to sell them for the same price and stay extremely competitive in order to bring in new business. I expect as soon as Magpul announces they are discontinuing them you will see many stores pull a "cheaper than dirt" and raise prices.

I figured the FDE were the most favorite of the colors but I did not think the other colors were that much far behind the black ones.

women gotta match their purse to their pumps...guys gotta match their mags to their hand guards right?

I like FDE. It is pretty close to the base color that I like to paint my rifles and mags anyway, so it saves the extra step of having to paint them; and like someone said, doesn't scratch through or wear off when it's molded in that color. If Magpul stops making Pmags in that color it's no big deal -- there are several other quality mag manufacturers who do. I've been wanting to try out some of those Lancer mags anyway.

I use the colors to mark the ammo. All my .300 stuff is FDE, and all my 5.56 stuff is black. Helps make sure the wrong mag doesn't go in the wrong gun.

Since I like shooting the .300 more, I have to go with FDE.

I painted numbers on my competition mags. Most of mine are plain old black. I horse traded most of the windowed ones while we still could.
