I'm hoping for a smaller store with helpful staff and reloading supplies. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

My favorite shop is Specialty Sports. Large selection, friendly and knowledgable staff.

Its at South Academy and Drennan Rd.

A second for Specialty Sports. I live in southern Colorado, and only get up to the Springs occasionally, but stop in when I'm in town. :)

The Shootin' Den on Filmore about half a mile east of I-25 doesn't have Specialty Sports' selection, but seems to have a reasonably knowledgeable staff, and sometimes has interesting used guns in the display cases.

A third for Specialty Sports! It ain't small but the staff is great, with lots of reloading supplies and knowledge. And Jeff (the owner) will do anything for you within reason.

As for the Shootin Den, my grandad said "if you don't have anything good to say about somebody - don't say anything"

I spent waaaaay too much money at Specialty Sports....

And Jeff has this weird idea that if you cannot decide.,...then buy both.

But they were the best in the Springs

Now...in Loveland...I have other advice !

I really dig Specialty Sports. Professional, helpful staff, clean atmosphere, not dark and dingy.

I'm not a big fan of the Shootin' Den as they don't cater to my tastes, in other words black and scary looking :)

I will say, though, that Cal at the Shootin' Den fixed the rear sight on a Ruger Mk II for me in about 5 minutes. (never mind that it should have come from the factory working, stupid Ruger.)

Oh, also forgot to mention Neal Johnson's. If you're into high-end (ie Olympic style) target shooting, that's the place for you. Their used gun case includes a smattering of Walthers, Hammerli's, TOZ, and other really posh target guns.

NJ's caters to the Olympic crowd, and is a well organized shop.

After reading this thread, I happened to be in CS on business today and I stopped in at Specialty Sports...

Wow! I've never seen inventory like that! There must have been a thousand guns on display - I'm not kidding. Safes, holsters, every type of ammo imaginable, *hundreds of book titles*, and more knives than I've ever seen in one place. Made me wish I was into knives...

The staff was great - professional, polite, three people asked me if I needed any help, and they were not a bit pushy, just genuinely helpful and friendly. One of them thanked me for stopping by as I left the shop.

I wish all gun store staff were like that.

This place is going to cost me...
