I was out with it this morning.
It's a 20 gauge OU made by FIAS in Italy.
No longer imported, although there are some Italian guns that look like it around these days.
It weighs six pounds and balances just right for a grouse gun.
Browning DoubleAuto (only made in 12 ga.). Got this gun new in 1961 (modified choke) and have used it plenty over the intervening years- though I've been using a little Merkel s/s in 20 ga. in recent times. Back in 1971 or so I had Simmons install a ventilated rib on the DoubleAuto and I still consider it one of the best-suited shotguns (in terms of handling) for quick upland bird shooting ever made. I think they stopped making it around 1971.
I'm sorry, this just cracks me up.
My gun has never missed either. It always shoots where I point it.
I might have missed once or twice, but my gun, never.
It's that nut behind the trigger that causes my gun problems.
My SKB 12ga 28in O/U Field model Mod/IC and my trusty Winchester Mod 120 ranger 20ga 28in barrel, mod choke, which has put birds in the freezer for many years.
I have a couple of runners up too.
One is my old Winchester Model 12 in 16 gauge. It has a Weaver Quik Point mounted on it, and was my grouse, geese, and deer gun for a while.
The other is a Marlin Model 90 OU in 16 gauge. I posted about the Marlin when I got it and the post is probably still around here somewhere. It's a neat old gun too.
