Favorite off brand handgun

Oh man i would love a Wichita made gun. That's one of the only companies to make guns in my state.

When it comes to pistols, heck yeah! I had forgotten about their cowboy gun

If this were a thread about rifles, Colt (except ARs) and S&W would be off-brand to me

I have a Wichita Silhouette pistol chambered in 7mm IHMSA Rimmed - basically the 30/30 case necked down to 7mm with a 40 degree shoulder. S/N 80 (a perfect score in Metallic Silhouette matches). Since the leaders of IHMSA decided they needed a class for every kind of pistol and shooter on Earth, I dropped the sport and don't shoot this gun very much. It's quite a powerful pistol and would be excellent for game from prairie dogs to deer. Might shoot a hog with it some day. I have a scope mount and a 5X scope. Super accurate! yep, I got out when the 7TCU would not knock down Rams, so IHMSA cut the backs off of the Ram's feet to make them easier to knock over with that puff caliber.
That's when the wind/a slight breeze started to blow over the rams causing a cease fire for the Rams to be reset, sometimes multiple times.
Attending matches became standing around all day to only shoot 20 minutes or so.

The fix for blown over rams became clamping them down, just counting hits, so painting the Rams every stage extended match times and 20-minute shooting times even more, sometimes matches were ended because of darkness.
Might as well shoot paper and count the hits.

Carries as safe as a bobbed hammered/DAO only revolver...only with more ammo

I don't want to cause thread drift either, but I wholeheartedly agree with you. It's too bad what happened with the IHMSA. It used to be fun.

Astra Constable .380, owned since the mid-70s. Not a "pretty" gun but it was the first concealable gun I owned and the first larger than a .22LR.
