One-handed trekker gets carried most, I've been extremely pleased with a number of Victorinox Tinkers in the past, and I think I may try out the Mechanic soon, I want to see how the little pliers are on it, but still don't see why I would want all my tools unusable while I'm using the pliers, so a miniature pair of needle-nosed visegrips will probably continue to be kept handy/

Vic Adventurer; it is in my pocket every day, all day, and sometimes in my jami bottoms.

I like the plain edge One-Handed Trekker a lot also.

I carried my old Vic SAK for decades. I wanted one of the Mariner series - finally got both a Skipper and Helmsman (below) - kind of big. My 'Smurf' Farmer remains my current favorite (also below).

Mariner Farmer?

That "smurf" SAK has a compass rose.

Makes it look like a mariner's SAK.

And they call it a "farmer?"

Sea Farmer?

Odd.

But I like it. A lot.

The RH one is the 'Smurf Farmer', although it could serve as a 'sea' Farmer... sort of a 'sub'-Mariner series - the awl could be a crude mini-Marlinspike. Hmmm, I was sort of a submariner worker - while SubSqTen boats were alongside - in N.London, CT - Nixon was Prez - been a while. Always liked the cool knives the bosun's mates carried.

Compass Rose

Ah, so.

So the one on the left is the Helmsman (duh!). You're right, that awl could stand in as a marlinspike for use on lighter line.

That actually looks like a very useful knife.

I have a black-handled Wenger Mountaineer with a locking plain-edged main blade that's essentially that same size. I've never carried it, and it's NIB. (Interestingly, I have seen exactly one plain edged instance of that knife -- mine -- and all the rest I've seen are serrated.)

Maybe I should dig that out and have it do some belt duty.

My favorite SAK

I own many of them, but the EDC is the Huntsman and for Outdoors the One Hand Trekker or the German Army.

I would say probably the Rucksack or Centurion. I like the bigger blades on there, and I still get my corkscrew or the first one. The Trekker isn't too bad either. One of those with a scissors on would be perfect for me.

The Soldier for the pant, suit or jacket pocket around town. And the Hunter.
