If you had a choice of a subcompact glock in any caliber as your bug gun (or primary where it applies) which caliber would you prefer? Why?

Note: This includes the subcompact "slimline" Glock 36

G26 more bullets and cheaper to shoot.
PRACTICE
Shot placement #1
Federal HST 124 gr. in my 9

I voted 26. The 26 has less recoil than the 27 which enhances repeat shots. Any quality ammunition will do the job.

I wouldn't consider a Glock 30 a "subcompact".

i voted "no glocks for me"

i would go with a colt defender or new agent.

or a kimber ultra cdp.

thats if i wanted a pistol that small.

i actually prefer commander sized guns, or slightly smaller like my pro carryII.

I wouldn't consider a Glock 30 a "subcompact".

You know I was just CERTAIN that even Glock also considered the 29 and 30 to be "Compacts" like the 19 and 23 and not sub-compacts like the 26 or 27, but I checked the website http://www.glock.com/english/index_pistols.htm and sure enough, I was totally wrong.. :uhoh:

Don't care much for subcompacts or glocks. I like the full size
XD(4" barrel) and bobtail 1911, but if I had to go that small I'd get a J-frame revolver.:)

yeah they just had them listed that way on the website so I figured in all fairness I'd put em in the poll. I was more interested in the 26 vs. 27, my figuring is sure you can make faster follow up shots with the 26 but you may be less likely to have to make a follow up shot with the 27 or 36 for that matter.

I'm looking forward to see how this goes :).

i'd like to check out the G29, but i really hate subcompacts. my agency gave my a G27 to use, i gave it back a couple days later and told them i had no use for it.

i didn't realize the G29 & G30 were considered SC's, i checked, you're right, they are. so, one of those might work, but other than that SC's are just NOT for me.

G27 - for me it is the right combination of size, weight, cartridge and capacity. If need be, I can swap out the barrel and shoot .357 SIG (G33 would be my second choice) or the barrel and a magazine and shoot 9mm.
Regards,
Greg

I voted G27 since they didn't have an all of the above. The only reason I would take the G27 over the G26 is because my main carry is the G22 and the 27 gives me magazine compatibility.

I voted G29 for the 10mm capacity out of the shorter barrel, and my second pick would be the G26, because I totally heart the G26.

I voted for the 26. I have a 19, a 26 and a 29. The 26 is much more concealable. The 29 is a real fist full of power, but if you lay it beside the 19, it is almost the same size. In my opinion it really falls outside the "sub compact" realm. I pocket carry the 26 almost daily. I can't do this with the 29. If I am hunting, or if I am dressed so that I can carry in a belt holster, then I carry the 29.

I voted for the Springfield XD40 Subcompact. Why you ask?

1) Grip angle
2) Grip length (I can only get one finger on the grip, my ring and pinky fingers hang free)
2) Grip Safety (I anticipate being slammed on this one:))
3) "Lifetime Warranty"
4) About as reliable as a Glock (900 rounds and only 1 flop due to a limp rist)
5) Better accuracy (at least in my experience)

Glock is a great gun but it does not work for me.

I voted "No Glocks for me". If I'm gonna carry a subcompact, it means I can't get made, so I'll go with a Kahr PM9. Otherwise, I'd like something at least G19-sized.

I have a G26, 33, 29 and xdsc9. I used to ccw the G26, now I ccw the G33. The G26 is one of my GSSF pistols. The G29 is also a GSSF pistol, however, I wouldn't hesitate to ccw it, and have, if I felt the need like backcountry hiking etc.

As far as the xd goes I bought it primarily for ccw but eventually wound up with the Glock. The Glocks just ccw better for me. Now the xd is just a range, truck or beater pistol. It's an older one before the new finish. I have to say it has been abused, but has never rusted like some of the older ones did. Don't know if I got lucky or it has anything to do with the 2 heavy coats of Blue Wonder Armadillo I put on it when I first got it.

As far as being reliable, both brands have been reliable for me. I just prefer the Glocks more.
