Oh Hi Oh
My employer is mandating background checks for all new and current employees. I'm told we will go through an FBI and BCI check. I have no idea what "BCI" means. Will these checks reveal the fact that I have a concealed carry license?

Back Ground checks are to see if you have a criminal record
not to see if you have any kind of permits ( Drivers License , Doctors License, Pistol permit.. etc. )

BCI = Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.

also

Ohio CCW permits are public records.

BCI is typically Bureau of Criminal Identification. In Ohio it appears to be BCII. http://www.ag.state.oh.us/le/investigation/bcii.asp

Whether it shows up or not depends on your states laws regarding that information, who maintains it, and who can access it. Since it appears to be public record in Ohio, it most likely will show up on any kind of comprehensive background check. Although, it looks like Ohio's public record law is a mess with special exemptions for the media.

If you have a carry license, that also means that you have an FBI number, which means that any private background investigator worth a spit will figure out that you either have a criminal record in one the 50 states of the union, been investigated for Military/LEO/Fed. employment, or you have a carry permit.

It will in Montana also. It even shows up when someone runs your driver's license.
