FC .308 brass

Today I was given 40 pieces of FC (Federal) .308 brass. 20 had a headstamp marked FC 7.62-M1A. The other 20 had a headstamp marked with FC ME .308. Why the different headstamps?
Normal Federal .308 are just stamped .308 WIN.

The brass marked FC 7.62-M1A is the stuff Federal is loading for the M1A's. The other stuff maybe for the Marlin 308 Express.

Thanks for the reply dodge. Is it safe to reload these for the .308 WIN? I took some measurments and they seem to be close enough.
Anybody else please feel free to chime in.

The ones for the M1A is fine for reloading for a 308 Win. The other ones should have a larger rim on them so they work better in a Marlin lever gun not for a bolt action.
