Feather Carbines

I am currently thinking about buying a Feather 9mm carbine. Has any one of you had experience with those guns?

No first hand experience, but if it's tne model that was produced several years ago (I'm not aware of new manufacture or marketing ), gunsmith J. B. Wood praised the design.

I got to shoot a .22 Feather carbine a few weeks ago. It was a really neat gun, so-so sights, and a jam-o-matic. But still pretty cool

I've got the .22 model. I like it a lot but Will never use the remington loose pack ammo for it again.Jams, stove pipes, etc. It is finnicky,just about everything else works fine.

I can't speak for the 9mm but I owned a the .22 model. I bought it back in '91 ($225). My best friend's son has it now. Whenever I go shooting with my friend he brings it along. That rifle has never jammed that I know of and that is with all kinds of .22 ammo. The sights could be better but they are not bad.

It is a "fun" rifle and it has taken a lot of abuse from my Godson. If the 9mm version holds up half as well you should be happy.

I saw these at a gun show here in Phoenix last year. I thought they had gone out of business (due to the AWB) and was surprised to see them. I was really eyeing up the .45 version.

Please let us know if you get one and don't forget a range report. I would be very interested in how it performs.

i hd one 15 years ago, paid $199 for it. it jammed alot, primarily due to the fact that the end of the spring would get caught between the bolt and the cutaway in the tube receiver that allow the bolt (charging) handle to be pulled back.

fun but not very well designed.

They were set up at the gunshow last weekend. I've really got the itch to get one of the 45's, but money's tight so I may just order the 22 and pretend.

I had a friend offer to GIVE me one of the .22s. Problem was, the previous owner had cut the barrel down (read: made it an SBR without bothering the ATF). But then it wasn't cycling properly, so he cut the recoil spring down. I watched my friend mess around with it for about a half hour, trying to get it to fire twice consecutively: no dice. He offered it to me: I declined, and pointed out the legal problems...

Last I heard, it was buried somewhere, until he can get a new spring and barrel...

I always thought one of these would be neat to supress .....guess I'll find something else if they are jam-o-matics.
