Anyone tried this particular ammo, I just got some and haven't shot it yet but I am going to run it through a Colt XSE Government. I noticed that it had more energy and velocity at 100 yards compared to the 230 grain stuff, a good thing.....right? Not that I do any pistol shooting at 100 yards, but you get the idea.

I had some. It was extremly accurate, fed perfectly in everything, was mild shooting, and nearly lit the range on fire with its exceptional muzzle flash.

Regards,
Happyguy:D

I've used it n my Ultra Carry and USP/C. My experience mirrors Happyguy's. I've moved up to 185+P's in the USP, but still use 'em in the Kimber, or 185 Silvertips or Gold Dots. YMMV

Forget the energy figures, they are popular to talk about but don't mean much. Recoil will be lighter with lighter bullets but penetration will be less. But bullet construction makes a big difference in performance. The most important is 100% reliability.

I had my kimber loaded with them for a while. I got to thinking that's not much bullet so I switched back to 200 or 230gr loads.

as long as its reliable, you're good. Energy and velocity don't mean a whole lot. As long as the bullet expands and makes a large permanent wound cavity, it's gonna get the job done.

Try a few boxes to see if your Colt:cool: is reliable with 165gr HS, if it is and you are comfortable with a light-for-caliber projectile, then go for it. I prefer the 230gr. myself.

Remember, friends don't friends buy Rugers:barf: !!!!

I packed the 165 Feds for a couple of years, then switched to a 230 Golden Saber. I prefer the recoil characterisitcs of the heavier bullet.

I was carrying them for a while in my Kimber, but later switched to 230g Golden Sabers. I didn't really have any reason to, "Golden Saber" just sounded way cooler. :D

Seriously though, they worked 100% out of the Kimber and I never had any problems with them. I have no doubt they would have performed if the need had arisen.
