Has anyone any experience with the Federal EFMJ ammo in the .45acp 200gr +P or the 9mm 124gr +P? The therory appears sound, but everything looks good on paper! Comments, opinions, test results?

That's what I carry when I travel back to NJ. On paper and in testing they proforma well. Beyond that there is little to no actual experiences available with the loads.

When the EFMJ first came out in 45acp, you could get the 230gr bullet weight. I shot them for years in my 1911's, Sig P-220, Sig P-245 and even in my first Taurus PT-145. I never hand any function problems with them in any of those guns.

I decided to see if they actually performed according to what I had read about them. I shot about everything I could to try to make them malfunction and not expand and in every test, from every gun except the Sig P-245, they mushroomed according to the design. WIth the Sig I had one whole box of 50 that only partially mushroomed or did not mushroom at all. They were accurate, almost boringly. When I heard that Federal were making them LEO only, I wanted to scream. I have not tried the 200gr. or the 9mm version as of this post.

I use this exclusively in my EMP, as it never failed, not once, in that firearm. Accurate and seems as though it would work well getting in past heavy clothing.
