Federal Judge Overturns California’s 3-Decade-Old Assault Weapons Ban

Wow.....this is a shock. Same judge that overturned the magazine capacity ban also I believe.

This will get appealed for sure. However, it would be nice go get a case that includes both assault weapons and high capacity magazines to SCOTUS since they take so few cases.


Per the article: "But the judge said he had granted a 30-day stay of the ruling at the request of Attorney General Rob Bonta, a move that would allow Mr. Bonta to appeal it."

Now they have to decide to they just want to just lose in California or do they want to lose bigger, like 9th circuit or at the supreme level.

I have no doubt they are working on the appeal right now, and will work through the weekend.

Finally.... even though it's not the last word... Hoping that the folks in California get some relief (but not holding my breath...).

I still believe that most of us get the government we deserve.... and the folks who imposed this ban were voted into place by that state and this is only one example of how badly they've gone down the wrong road.

Thank heavens I live in Florida.
