Just this week an unfired Gen II BAR w/Boss has made its way into my safe. Its in .308 caliber. I'm going to be shooting deer with it here in Virginia where they can go from 75-180 pounds. I had decided to shoot either the second generation Partitions from Winchester, or the XLC coated Barnes bullets, the weight will all be in 150 grains. I've had outstanding results from the Barnes Red Hot bullets out of my Knight and the XLC's were my first choice. My dealer is selling the Federal round 150 grain XLC for 35.00 a box. Same dealer is selling the PMC version using the same XLC bullet for 22.00 a box. I'm pretty brand loyal, and the Federal Nosler Partition load is what I shoot out of my 300 Weatherby. However the price difference is so much for the same round that I have to ask what is Federal selling here that I'm not getting with the PMC?
