I have just bought a 1948 Winchester Model 74.It was in very good shape visually. It had not been cleaned. It extracts shells fine but tried to feed more than one shell at a time.I took the bolt apart and cleaned it very well. The arms on the cartridge cutoff were dirty.I polished the feed ramp and cleaned all parts good.Loaded 14 rounds it cycled fairly well but catch's the spent shell in the action sometimes or key holes the bullet and wedges it in the action. What parts would need replacing ??It is all original parts at this time.
