I've got an old Browning humpback 2 9/16", prewar inherited from my Grandfather. I was just wondering what my options might be for feeding it.

Thanks,

Polywad, Gamebore, etc carry 16 gauge 2.5" shells. Ballistic Products carries components. Adapters exist for MEC loaders so one can use a MEC to build shorter loads.

Some, not all, A-5s can be rechambered for longer hulls. Check with a good smith.

HTH....

Are you sure the gun hasn't already been converted to 2.75" ? The majority have.

I'm almost positive, 50 years ago I suspect 2 9/16 shells were still available. I've had the gun for 30 years and it wasn't used for about 20 years before that thus no need to convert it.

Thanks Y'all, it looks like Polywad has what I need right now, there's pricing for individual boxes and I'm only look at shooting it al little bit. I suppose thinking about ammo is getting ahead of myself, the first thing I need to do is get it in working order, the butt stock is spit wide open around the tangs and the action spring tube is broken off. There's a small crack in the receiver behind the ejection port from shooting with either an improperly set friction ring or just worn out.
I've been told my Grandfather loved to quail hunt, if there was ever a worn out gun this one's it. The checkering on both the butt stock and fore stock is nearly worn slick. I'll post a photo when I've got time.
