I just recently purchased my second pistol a lightly used FEG P9R and I've been trying for the life of me to find extra magazines and parts for it and its been pretty hard. I have found magazines and barrels but thats about it and I was hoping to be able to get some other common replacement parts online. Now I've heard that you can and can't use parts or magazines from the Browning HP with it and I was wonder about this as it would help me quite a bit as these parts are more common. As to interchangeability I would prefer information from first hand experience, and not "I heard about it from a friend who heard from a friend..." etc, as I do not have the money to waste finding out by trial and error.

Also the slide mounted safety is impossible to remove with my thumb alone from a firing position, does anyone know of a way to make it move a bit easier?

My screen name may be FEG, but you have stumbled onto the reason that I do not own any FEG pistols anymore...

The best FEG designs are the HP and S&W M-59 hybrids. The P9R and GKK fall into this category. Their parts are 100% unique to the FEG models, AFAIK.

The GKK in particular is a frustrating model. Every one I have tried has been darn accurate, but there are ZERO spare parts available for this model. Getting OEM magazines and a manual even takes some patience. (CDNN has the manuals, by the way.) I had to get rid of mine, because it was wearing its magazine catch, and I had no practical way to replace it.

I would use the P9R as a beater, or get rid of it.

I've used my P9RK as a beater, its held up well. Didn't like 147gr ammo, but I fixed that with Wolf extra power mags springs for the S&W 59, S&W followers, and a bit of JB weld to build up the follower so it's lock back.

I'd use and enjoy it. I don't think you'd have much trouble spending more on ammo run thru it than you did for the gun and hardly notice any wear.

i have been looking for a p9r barrel for the last 8 month. where the hell did you find it -- please IM me.

now if your feg p9r
with wooden grips and blued, and the import mark states c.a.i.
and it is DA/SA

and the barrel looks like
this
(see attached)

then you have a double action P9r with
proprietary barrel. I do not think anything will
interchange from hi-power -- beside may be some
small parts.

if you have something else -- post it here or IM me
and we will go from there.

CDNN also has original factory mags for the GKK for $19.95 each*...

I also sent them an email asking about manuals, hope to get a response soon.

(edit)
Just to note it also has the wooden grips, blued finish, C.A.I import stamping, and DA/SA action just as you said.
Guess I'm just going to have to go with the Promag mags I saw.

By and large, Pro Mags don't really work in FEG pistols. The ones I had for the GKK were particularly worthless, and it is a single stack!

Yeah, don't buy ProMags unless they are from a place that will give you your money back when they don't work!

Well ****e, does anyone know of magazines that will work well? The current magazine I have for it is sort of a matte black or dark gray color with a dark green follower, it has not markings of any kind on it inside or out. I guess I'll keep looking around the net for a magazine as the few gun shops in my area really only have domestic parts and such.

Feg P9R

I bought this Feg used in good condition. It came with one magazine. Wanting to use it for regular range duty or even IDPA if it proved worthy, I ordered two additional magazines. I found it consistently shot 6" low at 50 feet. Not wanting to bother with changing the rear sight I traded it on a CZ75B. Then the two spare magazines arrived for the Feg. I still have the magazines, still in the bubble wrap.

Anyone interested send a PM.

Well I may end up trading it in for a different pistol as it is having problems extracting cartridges on a fairly regular basis, also the lack of replacement parts is another reason, guess I should have done some more research before buying this one.
