FF Barrel

I've been currently looking at getting a lighter hand guard for my RRA AR-15. It has a FF barrel, and was wondering can I get any hand guard for it or can I only get FF hand guards? Also, I'd like an explanation as to why just for future general knowledge:)
 
Uh.... what is an FF barrel? Maybe be a bit more specific so we can help you.

Does it have a front sight base?

What is the gas system length?

What is the barrel contour?
 
FF: Free-float.

It'll only take free-float handguards unless you install a standard front sight and delta ring assembly. Those are what hold normal AR handguards on. Thing is, installing those will un-float the barrel.
 
I think he means a FF barrel as in a barrel that is free floated. He means his rifle has a free float handguard and wants a lighter one.

To the OP, it's generally considered a waste of bandwidth to open more than one thread about a given topic within a close time period. You asked this question in this thread: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=693680 a short time ago and got some excellent replies.

As to which handguard will fit and why, any handguard can be put on, but the level of work and cost will vary. Which exact make and model do you have?
 
jakk280rem, sorry I thought (in my mind) that it was a different topic. Never considered it to be on the other thread I have on FF handguards
