I have contacted several people with ad's in the last while in my State and
area only to find out they are a gunshop or dealer and need tax and background on all items sold, this is all good and fine but can they put this somewhere in their ad so I do not waste their time and mine?

Is a background check that bad? Theres several guys complaining about this same issue on backpage and i just dont understand the fuss. Normally when i buy something i get the otd price in the add. I actually prefer dealers im way to paranoid doing gun deals in circle ks parking lot.

I usually find that FFLs have higher prices and aren't willing to negotiate as much as a private party. And buying used guns from them is about the same as buying from someone on a forum. My local FFLs don't even inspect or clean their used guns.

Another issue is that someone may be legal to possess and purchase the firearm, just not able to transfer it through a FFL (think someone 20 years old trying to buy a pistol. Can't transfer it through the FFL because of the age limit, but can legally possess the gun.)

And honestly, I never really liked filling out the paperwork to begin with.
