I've been eyeing the hornady LnL classic kit as my entry point for reloading pistol. I have a pending C&R application, and am holding off on ordering until I get it, for the discounts offered by midway and graf's.

The monkey wrench in the plan is the current clearance price on it. I'm trying to figure out if I'm better off ordering now, to get the clearance price, or later, with the C&R discount. I'm within driving range of picking up in person from either midway, or graf's.

Can someone let me know the price of that item from midway, and graf's, if one has a C&R for the dealer discounts? If it would not be appropriate for public posting, could someone PM me? Thanks!!

Here is Grafs price with a C&R.

HRN PRESS LOCK-N-LOAD AP EZ-JECT AUTO-PROGRESSIVE
Item Number: HRN095100 · Availability: In stock

The coupon code is a great idea, but the fine print says "regular priced merchandise".
This press kit is marked clearance.

Rusty: That's the LnL AP progressive you listed, I was looking at the LnL Classic Kit. Thanks though, I've been wondering what it would cost, too.

That hasn't stopped me in the past.

Sorry,

Remember - if you use the C&R with Graf's, your free shipping goes away - the press is fairly heavy - you may want to calculate which works out better.

I frequently travel through columbia, and graf's is about a 30 minute detour, so if I go that route, I can pickup in person.
Thanks to all!

Picking it up results in sales tax.....I do not know what it is there, but, like the shipping, you need to calculate it out to see what works best for you

I'm in missouri, I can't dodge sales tax, even if I have it shipped.

I bit the bullet, it is ordered now. I think I got everything I need, and half of it was on clearance. The press kit, (which includes powder measure, scale, priming tool, and misc necesseties), shell holder, die set, 1k primers, 1k bullets. Should be everything but powder. Midway drop ships powder, so there's no picking it up. I just want a pound starting out, until I'm sure I find a powder I like, and I'm not dropping $25 hazmat to ship 1 pound. I'll have to settle for somewhere I can get it local, or borrow some from dad. He loads shotshell, and has 2 or 3 different powders on hand. Odds are stong one of those shotshell powders will be suitable for 9mm (iirc, he stocks universal clays and unique).

Ouch, you do realize that you will be paying two hazmat fees, one hazmat fee for the powder and another for the primers.

No hazmat for pickup in person. That is something about midway that pisses me off. One hazmat charge should be sufficient to cover primers and powder (yes, I know, they ship from different places, but maybe this is a good enough reason they shouldn't do that...)

Sorry I missed the part where you are picking it up. I agree, I don't know why Midway doesn't stock powder. I think they lose a lot of business because of it.

I ordered the LnL Classic Kit from Midway Wednesday night around 7pm for $278 + two die sets and some other stuff. They honored the $35 off $350 coupon. Shipping was $19. I got a confirmation at 11pm Wed that it had shipped. The tracking number says it is out for delivery and my big brown truck just pulled on to the street. That is an awesome deal and great delivery time. Hornady is offering 500 free bullets with the press and 100 bullets for each die set to make the deal sweeter. http://www.hornady.com/promotions/get-loaded

Nuts! I had the order in the shopping cart wednesday night, but didn't pull the trigger until thursday. That coupon code would have been dandy!

I ordered also a die set for 9mm, but I plan to (soon, hopefully) expand to include .40S&W. Bullets for .40 are more expensive, so I think I'll get my free hornady bullets in .40 even though it may be a few months before I'm set up to load it.

.40 is such a high pressure round, I don't want to "cut my teeth" reloading that round, when I also shoot 9mm. I'll move on to something hot like .40 once I've established a good safety record with 9mm loads.
