I got these done yesterday, except for logo and sharpening, and hopefully they'll go to Iraq. I know a guy on another forum who's unit got tore up a few weeks ago and want to send these to him to give to a couple of his guys.

Don't really know if I like the style - I designed these probably a year ago and now I'd probably do it different. See what you think.

3/16" ATS-34
Heat Treat by Paul Bos
Brown Canvas Micarta scales
SS pins and lanyard tube
6" blade, 12" OAL

The micarta looks dark brown on one and much lighter on the other:

Strange - I finished both handles the same way and they look completely different!

Well...you know one thing I'd do differently! ;)

Good looking knives. A bit on the large size for field carry, but I've seen some that big carried.

Yea, they'd been HT'd and sat for a long time. Now they'd probably look more like the big Camp knife I showed and with a guard. These handles are very long and one can grab the back to chop or use both choils for a great grip.

That's what I want to hear, John. I appreciate it!

If they are really supposed to be for fighting I'd add a guard to keep the fingers from sliding forward. I know you have those nice deep finger depressions but I'd still add a guard.

Nice looking tools though!

Nice clean grinds Don ! What size contact wheel you using ? smooth or serrated ?
