For now we only have a framework for pending gun control law(s) coming out of a bi-partisan team at Congress. Some members are already supporting it, others are saying they will wait for the actual draft bill to decide (e.g. Manchin), and others are silent (e.g. Cotton). In the meantime, we should prepare, and possibly act, to notify our Senators and Representatives to follow their Constitutionally mandated oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States."
As part of this preparation, I recommend reading the full 2021 Supreme Court opinion on CANIGLIA v. STROM et al., to include Justice Alito's concurring opinion. This opinion addressed the issue of warrantless confiscation of firearms, and thus relates directly to red flag laws or extreme risk protective orders (ERPO) and the meaning of the 4th Amendment. The proposed framework includes providing money to the states to induce them to pass their own red flag laws.
