Hi,
My new Hogue stock for my 10/22 showed up today and it's installed along with the Valq. trigger group, this frees up my original stock - i ordered my 10/22 with the cheapie plastic knowing i'd upgrade to the Hogue...
So my son is enjoying Air Rifle range time at our local IWLA chapter, and I thought I'd use the original 10/22 stock and original trigger group and build up a rifle for him, and part of that starts by shortening the stock.
He's the eldest of three children at 5+ years old now, so I see this shortened 10/22 getting use for years to come and this is a really cheap original stock, so no tears will be shed when i cut it down.
So the question at hand, for youth shooters, is there a sizing scale where one can figure a proper Length of Pull for a starter rifle based on arm length/age/height or something?
And I assume modifying the barrel is what requires a stamp vs. shortening a stock or are there legal ramifications to this type of change? (I'm in VA)
thanks!
