Finally got a buck!

Hunting good old south dakota with my rifle and a decent buck finally walked by so I made the shot and he died in his tracks. We have seen some monsters around but it was pretty tough to pass this guy up. Would you have shot him?

Well thanks guys for all the positive comments! I was thinking about putting him on the wall since he is the biggest deer I have shot so far. And yes I did make a good shot stopping him in his tracks. I was using a .308 loaded with a seirra game king SP. I had LC cases with 41.5 grains of IMR 4895. Double lunged him and left a pretty massive hole on his backside. I just wish I always lived in South Dakota because there are A LOT bigger deer here than there are back in Minnesota.

Finally got a buck!

I don't pass up any deer that is legal. We only shoot a deer about every 2 or 3 years in my family...not by choice, but because we don't get the chance.

That's a shooter buck just about anywhere that your average hunter hunts. You may see deer like that get passed up on TV, but that aint how the average person hunts. You pass that deer up where I hunt and you won't see another like it for a few years probably.
