Finally got a response from Remington about my R51

Thank you for contacting Remington! Your service ticket number for this repair is xxxxxx. We are still awaiting the replacement for your R51. We do not have an estimated time arrival for the replacement. When we have that then your repair will be complete and you receive your firearm.

Good to hear they are still going to replace it. Bad to hear "We have no idea when it will happen"
 
There was a voluntary recall. breech block, slide, chamber, and just about everything was out of spec. Remington ceased production, re-engineered it and is replacing current R51's.

not only were there FTF's, and FTE's constantly, it had a nasty tendency to not fully chamber and fire Out of Battery.
 
I pretty much expected this;
They said October. But to re-engineer it, manufacture them, and to get them out to us, it's GOT to take longer unless they have some STAR TREK - like technology to copy the guns.
And they don't.
I sent mine in recently; from the UPS tracking I know Remington received it on their dock October 10, 2014. At this rate I will probably receive the notice the OP received in late November ......
 
I actually emailed them about it monday asking the status as i sent it in in early september. Got the response today (tuesday)
