I would have preferred black but am pretty sure they don’t offer a black 2.0 in 5” right now.

The pics are right after I got home so I haven’t been to the range yet.
I did try all of the backstraps and like the large the best. I have big hands so it’s nice to have a fuller grip.

The trigger is ok. Not great but not bad. I’m going to use it for a bit and see what I think on the range. I really like the trigger on my XDs a lot better.

I’m not fond of the sights. They’re ok but like the trigger the fiber optic sights on my XDs are much nicer so may swap them out.

Af for anything else. I’m going to shoot it some, get used to it and then decide on upgrades.

It seems the 2.0 trigger is better than the 1.0
And I’ve never been a fan of the beaver tail
I also like the more aggressive texture of the 2.0 better

So I can’t wait to go out and shoot it

I read all about the 1.0 Triggers when I got it but I do not have any grinding or grit, the reset is good and audible. I believe they 'fixed' the trigger before I got mine.

It seems S&W has been continually improving the M&Ps as the should. But the M2.0 was rolled out to compete in the military pistol purchase competition which they lost. I’m biased so think the award was stupid.

In any case, I’m looking forward to seeing how it actually shoots with my ammo.

S&W did not have an adequate political and corporate representation, I do not know what their price bid was like. I believe the competition was rigged to get the Army to choose Glock and Sig got it due to the price and quality of their offering. I have like 11 S&W's to 10 sigs and 9 Glocks ... so fairly egalitarian. I really like all of my S&W autos but I think my SIgs are as good or better. I've moved away from Glocks but I like them as well, just not as much. And, of course, I have many beloved S&W revolvers.

I used to be a government contractor, so I’m well aware of what goes on. If the American people knew 10% of it they’d be in DC throwing everyone out.

My ex wife was a huge Sig fan. I’m with my brother for prefers S&W.

I use the words "APEX Trigger Kit" in the same sentence with S&W M&P. Both of ours are the 1.0 but it makes them totally different guns. Without a doubt I would install a APEX trigger kit if I had the 2.0.

I am not sure about the fiber optics sights. My wife has Tru-Glo on hers and they sure are nice on the range. Her favorite addition is the Crimson Trace green laser :) I gave her on her birthday. I scored big points for that birthday present. :D

M&P #2 is a back-up gun (2 is 1) so for now I will keep the factory sights on it.

Thanks
The 2.0 trigger seems ok dry firing it.
I’ll see how it is once I get to the range.

The onLy reason I want to stay with the stock trigger is I want to use this gun for competition and my understanding is that a trigger change will make it illegal for the lowest classes in USPSA and/or ISPA.

Likewise as much as I’d like an optic right now that’s not an option for a beginner in competition.

I've got 2 of the 5" Pro's which are rumored to have the same trigger as the 2.0.

It's an "OK" trigger, not bad really. I use mine for IDPA and 3GUN. I'm looking at putting the APEX kit in one of them. All it will amount to in IDPA is moving from SSP to ESP, not a big deal really. I did swap out the stock sights fore a set of Dawson Precision FOs, back when Dawson made an adjustable rear for the M&P. IMHO the Dawsons are brighter than the stock S&W FOs, big plus is you can order a correct front sight height to make your POA = POI.

I’ve been thinking about getting A M&P M2.0. I have two M&Ps, a 9mm and a 45. The 45 has an APEX spring kit in it and the triggers on the two guns are night and day.
