As the title says, I finally got to the indoor range today with my PC Carbine. The first order of business was to zero the scope. I'm using a UTG 3-9x32mm BugBuster mounted on the receiver with Weaver #12 scope bases. Prior to going to the range, I used a Bushnell laser boresighter to get an approximate zero at about 10 yds. This worked nicely to get me on paper and then I zeroed it at 25 yds. With that done, I fired about 100 rds with no failures. I tried two different ammo types and weights: 124 gr GECO FMJ and Aguila 115 gr FMJ. Shots were fired with the fore end resting on my range bag using 17 round Ruger mags. I'm pleased with the result but I'm looking forward to getting to the outdoor range to see what the firearm can do at longer distances. Also, I need to install the Glock adapter so that I can test performance using a couple of Glock 26 mags that I just got.

I've been considering the same exact set up.

How do you like the Bug Buster?

I've seen some reviews (mostly on amazon) that some have cross hairs that aren't squared up

I've also been considering a Bug Buster for a 10/22 take down.

Where did you get the bag at? Mine did not come with one. I put a True Glow red green dot on mine and I have shot 115 , 124, and 147 grain bullets and they all shot good groups at 25 yards. I have not shot it a longer yardage yet.

I think that's the normal Ruger takedown bag for the 10/22 takedown. You can get those on the Ruger website.

I've found I really love scout scopes on PCCs. The NcStar Pistolero scope is a surprisingly good one and cheap I've found.

Well I finally got to handle a Ruger PCC today. I did like the way it breaks down an I liked the fact that it is threaded at the muzzle and has a nice protector in case I ever do get into stamp collecting. I tried the sights with my plastic lens and I think that large aperture is very useable. As tomorrow I will have a right eye just like the left it seemed a thing to do. There was a KelTec folder there with it and I compared the two side by side.......of those two I want the Ruger. Both were set up for Glock mags.

Naturally it has drizzled all day so I get no shooting today.......

Thanks for posting.
Were you able to adjust for a 25 meter parallax free image?

No problem since the BugBuster has an Adjustable Objective lens - one the reasons I bought it. :D

Here's how much I like the BugBuster - the first one I bought is on my 10/22 Takedown. :)

What he said.
Nice set up, bluzman. It's always good to get a gun out and put some bullets down the bore.
Thanks ;)

I put one on law-away at my LGS yesterday. There was one in the shop a few weeks ago and someone was buying it when I came in the store. This time I was there when it was put out.

Very neat and interesting...... There's even a NY state compliant version without the threaded muzzle according to what I've seen on other sites. I have yet to see one in person. I've got some 9mm Glock mags, a lot of 9mm ammo, and also reload 9mm so one of those would be welcome here.

Ruger 9mm PC Carbine 19100 b.jpg Zeroed 10 yard bipod target.jpg Zeroed 25 yard bipod target.jpg bluzman, congratulations. Good shooting with a fine carbine.

I have had similar results with a bit different setup. I added a Vortex Crossfire Red Dot Scope, SuperComp Muzzle Brake and bipod to my 9mm Ruger PC. Weight increased to 8.4 lbs.

Because of the 109+F temp, I too went to an indoor range. Also zeroed at 10 yards with a Sightmark Universal Bore Sight and then moved to 25 yards. Shot 153 rounds of S&B 115gr FMJ without any failures. A few days later went back to the indoor range and shot 187 rounds of S&B 124gr FMJ at 25 yard targets. Again, without any failures.

I love this carbine!

I just saw my first one this morning while buying a sampler of .22 rounds to try out. There was a guy and his wife buying it, so I didn’t get a chance to handle it. (Last one in the rack)

I think I’ll be putting another Ruger on lay away soon!

I've had mine for a few weeks now. It is fitted with a red dot and also zeroed at 25yds.
Pic below is a 20 round group. The 2 upper right shots were the last 2 rounds before finding zero.
The square is about 1.5". I'm a reloader and this was shot with RMR 124gr JHP MPR over BE86.

Impressive firearm so far. Next time out will be shooting steel.

Based on your experience I ordered one of these for my Ruger PCC. Took it to the range today, and I must say that I am impressed. It dialed right in, and I was even able to remove/reattach using the UTG QD rings, and it returned to POA. Then, tempting fate, I broke down the Ruger, took off the scope, bagged it all up, shook it/banged it around some, and then reassembled. Return to POA. Nice!

Don't know how well it will hold up for the long run, but this first outing was very encouraging.

Great to hear those results. They're consistent with what I found with a BugBuster mounted on my 10/22 Takedown so I was hoping it would be a repeat performance on the PCC. The key to achieving repeatability seems to be a firmly snugged adjustment ring.
