Finally got my SR9c - pictures included

After waiting out Maryland's seven day 'wait period', I picked up my new Ruger SR9c today. It's a beauty in my opinion. Haven't cleaned it yet or fired it. Will clean tomorrow and hopefully test out one day next week. It's a neat little gun that I hope to use for 'carry' some day. It's not too big and it's not too small. And being polymer it weighs less than the other handguns I own that are similar in size. Here are a few pictures:

Right now I'm thinking IWB in a nylon clip type holster that I bought recently. I tested out on my hip, and 4 and 5 o'clock positions, but those didn't work out well for me. About 2 o'clock seems to work with the right shirt. I'm new to this carry thing. I can't in Maryland (but that may change), but I can carry in neighboring states with my Utah non-res permit.

Mine is identical. It is my only polymer pistol. I love it. Ruger hit a bullseye. Enjoy!

I started out with the nylon clip holster and quickly realized that it isn't really the best way to carry. Now my preference is for a kydex IWB like what is offered by Crossbreed. Good luck with your new Ruger.

Once I get some experience carrying I'll better be able to know what's going to work best. Currently I can only carry when we go to Virginia for a few days. We're trying to get Maryland to be a Shall Issue state. We almost had it but it's being appealed now. So we wait some more.

Absolutely love mine, carry it constantly (went with me on a month long business trip to Texas). Jon Parker's IWB is working great for me and my SR9c...as does my Tagua IWB. Only drawback to the Tagua...it's really meant for the full size version, so the length of the holster sometimes pushes the tang into my side. I do have one nylon that fits and carries well, but is a pain to re holster. Retention is poor, though.

Congrats. I love mine and carry it all the time. Excellent firearm and very accurate. Make sure to clean all the factory grease off the slide/barrel and firing pin channel! That stuff can really gunk up your beautiful new gun!

I've already rendered the gun inoperable. See my thread titled "Some people shouldn't be allowed to work on guns". It will probably be three or four weeks before I can try the gun.

Great choice. I just ran another 100 rounds thru mine on Thursday. It's a great gun for the price. Just clean it, shoot it and repeat.
