I bought an old Baikal TOZ 66 about a month ago, unfortunately there was a crack in the stock i didn't notice in the shop. i took it to a local gunshop where a gentleman was able to do a very nice "invisible" repair job for a good price. I didn't return the gun to the original shop as this gun was exactly what I was looking for, genuine sidelock hammer gun with a slightly old timey look and heaps of character. I don't do cowboy shooting, I wanted this as a house gun and informal clay gun with the option of taking it out for bunnies or pigs.
Anyway, I took it for a shoot at the range and was very impressed. I was shooting standing next to the clay thrower at the rifle range, targets were outgoing at a slight angle and it was a pretty windy day, just for variety.
This gun was nice, I usually use a full lenght SXS but this one was a natural pointer. Being a rifle shooter I tend to aim with a shotgun and my scores reflect this, with the coachgun, no problem- point, shoot, hit.
I let a few get a fair distance and it cracked them too. all in all very happy.
Now I know your want specifics, it has a modified choke in the right barrel and a full in the left.
I patterned at 25m and it evenly covered the top 1/2 of the target (int slow fire) so was shooting high. Buckshot gave a similarly satisfying spread.
I shot a few Remington Sluggers but these went way too high so I will try another brand.
Thanks for indulging me

Hi Mate! I used mine from 75 or so when I bought it , was from the bad old Soviet Union days and came to US by way of Canada! Note after 30 years it still is strong and tight! It has 20" barrels chocked Imp. Cylinder and Modified and came with a straight grip - I put on the old 'Locator" pad and have shot quite a few Phesant with it, but it does take longer to pull back hammers on a rising bird! It really is not safe to carry cocked as the trigger pulls are very light. My gun shoots buck shot exceeding well and to POA.Most slugs are centered but they ARE 6" high at 25yards , closer to POA as you get closer.I had a day glow worm type sight on it in the 80's but went back to big bead.n These TOZ 66 s were great IMHO. It is the middle gun , between the AYA 10ga and the Savage 20ga. 311 on top.:)
