I bought Elite Tactical Systems, Inc., a small suppressor manufacturing company, located in Franklin, TN, back in June.

The FFL expired 01 JUN 06, so I had to apply for a new license before I could really start doing anything. Of course, the SOT (Special Occupancy Tax) expired within two weeks of the FFL expiring. For those who aren't familiar with the laws regarding FFL's, the SOT is essentially the fee for being able to manufacture suppressors, machineguns, and other NFA / Title II / aka "Class 3" stuff.

The application process was kind of a PITA, taking from June until October. But, it's done, and I can now buy and sell firearms IAW the National Firearms Act. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, it's time to start sending out copies of the license and getting the ball rolling. I expect to have the SOT paid for within the next two weeks. Once that's done, I'll be building suppressors, short-barrelled rifles (AR's), short-barrelled shotguns, and AOW's. I'll also be doing "Class 3" transfers for a very reasonable fee ($100 each, compared to the local competition's lowest price of $125). I'm also an authorized dealer for Surefire, Tactical Tailor, Doublestar / J&T Distributing, and Yankee Hill (YHM).

So, if anyone on here is an FFL and would like a copy of my license, please IM with your contact info, and I'll get a copy to you. Also, for anyone in the Middle TN area who needs any NFA stuff, drop me a line, and we'll make it happen.

Needless to say, I'm a pretty happy guy today.

Congrats!!!

We need to get together and do lunch!
We can discuss; old Army war stories, how much the FFL process sucks, and how our two companies can work together :)

Joe, Wilco.

Cacique500,

What's this "discount" of which you speak? j/k Any member of THR who has done business with me in the past can vouch for the fact that I take good care of any High-Roader's.

Of course, I take care of all of my customers. My customer service motto is "ETS treats EVERY customer as if they are our ONLY customer."

So if you wanna buy a gun for personal home use, er from yourself, do you put yourself through a background check? Keep records of it? How does that work? :D

Yep, if I buy a gun for my personal collection, I have to do a background check and write it out of my bound book, as transferred to me. For the sake of keeping appearances above-board, if I were to sell that same gun within, say, a year, I'd need to log it back into my bound book, and sell it as a dealer.

BATFE is apparently not fond of dealers buying guns, putting them into their private collection, and turning around and selling them as a private sale.

Awesome. Welcome to the most challenging, insane, yet somehow fun career there is. :)
