I am a shotgun owner and recently inherited three revolvers. I am interested in finding out their age. Dont think any are worth a lot but curious.

One is S&W Model 10 .38spcl and one is Colt 45 service revolver. I have the serial numbers but S&W says it will take 8 weeks to get an answer back. I know for shotguns there are sites where you can get the serial number ranges by year. All I know about mine so far is its after 1920 (above ser number 20,000). Anyone know of sites where I can look these revolvers up?

Nothing online for S&W, but members here. including myself, have the S&W standard catalog that we could look up the year for you. Post the serial letter(s) and numbers from the bottom of the grip frame (Replacing the last 2 numbers with XX) and we can help.

Include a description of the gun, finish, barrel length, condition, ect to give an aprox. value and maybe rarity.

As far as the Colt look HERE
