Finished polishing the barrel (Had to block out the serial number for the pic), has Viking grips, JackAsh Custom stainless guide rod. I love this gun!

Nice pic!

I've noticed this from time to time about hiding serial numbers in posts and pics and maybe I just need some education but what's the problem this solves?

Do serial numbers have some meaning or value separate from the gun itself? Not a challenge at all - just don't get why they need to be hidden

I think the idea is that somebody could report your gun as stolen. In some areas, firearms aren't registered, and private sales aren't tracked, so it might cause you a lot of difficulty some day, trying to explain to an LEO that no, your gun was never really stolen.

Whether or not it's ever happened, or ever likely to happen, is of little concern to privacy-minded folks, especially when it's such an easy precaution to take.

Nope that makes sense - I would think though you'd have to prove ownership before you could say something was stolen and be taken seriously. But at least the reason makes sense now - wondered if it was something to do with being able to do ID theft by means of serial numbers or some such thing.

Krang,

Boy those grips make all the difference in the world! The black plastic factory grips do the 75 no favors in the appeal department. Nice Pic, nice gun! :)
