This thread made me wonder about the legality of finishing an 80% receiver. In that post, the poster was wondering if that could be used as a loophole in CA law.

But I got thinking - is it legal to finish an 80% at all?

Lets say that the finished product doesn’t violate any laws - the finished gun complies with the NFA, GCA FOPA, AWB yadda yadda yadda.

So how about it? Is that legal?

    Thanks,
    Nick

Feel free to come visit the forums at Roderus Custom Gunworks, pretty much the home of every 80% project you could think of from Ruger MkIs to semiauto 1919s, we'd be happy to answer any questions you might have.
